Field Hockey Ranked #23 In Penn Monto/NFHCA Poll

MANAHAWKIN, N.J. – After a blistering 9-1 start to the 2025 campaign, including a 3-0 mark in Centennial Conference play, the Haverford College field hockey team checks in at No. 23 in the Week 5 release of the Penn Monto/NFHCA Division III Coaches Poll. The Week 5 ranking marks Haverford's first national appearance since the 2021 team peaked at No. 17 during that season.

Haverford was also ranked No. 14 in the NCAA Power Index (NPI) released Monday afternoon. The Fords are off to the best 10-game start in program history, highlighted by victories over NPI No. 16 Rowan, No. 25 Franklin & Marshall, and No. 49 SUNY Cortland.

The Fords return to action Wednesday, Oct. 8, with a 7 p.m. matchup at Swan Field against Centennial rival Ursinus (NPI No. 39), as they look to secure the program's first-ever victory over the Bears.

This week's Penn Monto/NFHCA Division III Coaches Poll brings another shake-up near the top, as Johns Hopkins climbs one spot to No. 2 and Salisbury follows suit, moving up to No. 3. Christopher Newport remains the team to beat, holding firm at No. 1 after another standout week, while Middlebury and Bates round out a fiercely competitive top five.

The Penn Monto/NFHCA Division III Coaches Poll is a composite ranking of the nation's top 25 teams with a .500 or better record each week. Each Division III conference submits one vote per poll, cast by a designated head or associate head coach serving on the NFHCA Coaches Poll Committee. Polls are announced every Tuesday during the field hockey season.
