HAVERFORD, Pa. – The Haverford College men's tennis team lost its Centennial Conference finale, 8-1, to No. 10 Johns Hopkins University Saturday afternoon at Bramall Courts.
The Blue Jays swept doubles and won five singles matches in straight sets.
Haverford's lone victory came at No. 4 singles where Natty Sergay came back from a first set loss to defeat Peter Vale.
The Fords drop to 8-5 overall and 5-4 in the conference. Johns Hopkins improves to 18-4 on the season and 9-0 in the Centennial.
With Haverford's loss and Washington College's 5-4 win over Dickinson College Saturday, the Shoremen clinched the fourth playoff spot by virtue of winning the head-to-head tiebreaker over HC. The Fords close out the season with a non-conference match at The College of New Jersey Tuesday at 4 p.m.
