2015: Went 5-3 with a 1.07 ERA in a team-high nine starts and 67 1/3 innings … Struck out at least 10 hitters in eight starts … Ended the season as the NCAA leader in strikeouts (111) and strikeouts per nine innings (14.84) … Posted a 7.93 strikeout-to-walk ratio – 15th in the country – while his 0.92 WHIP was 27th in Division III … First Ford in program history to strike out over 100 batters in a season … Opened the year with a six inning, 12 strikeout, no walk performance vs. North Park University (Mar. 8) … Was named Centennial Conference Pitcher of the Week after striking out 15 Johns Hopkins’ hitters over eight innings (Mar. 29) … Became the Centennial Conference’s all-time leader in strikeouts at Dickinson (Apr. 4), scattering three hits and tallying 13 punch outs in seven innings … Allowed first earned run of the year in fifth start of the season during 6-1 victory at McDaniel (Apr. 11), recording 13 whiffs … Tied career high with 10 innings at Ursinus, adding 17 strikeouts, second most in program history … Threw a complete game in the regular season finale at Gettysburg (Apr. 25).
2014: Named a First-Team All-American by D3baseball.com and the American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA)...Became the eighth player in Centennial Conference to earn back-to-back pitcher of the year awards...Both the ABCA and D3baseball.com tabbed Bergjans as a First-Team All-Region performer...Was one of two players to be a unanimous selection to the Centennial's All-Conference First-Team...Bergjans set program records for wins (nine) and strikeouts (96) in 2014 and was ninth in the nation with a 1.08 ERA...Set the career strikeout record in 2014 in a 3-0 win over Dickinson in which Bergjans fanned 12 batters...Bergjans currently owns the school mark with 263 strikeouts...Struck out a season high 13 batters in the Fords NCAA victory over regional top seed Moravian...Fanned eight or more batters in eight of his 10 starts...Surrendered just 12 extra-base-hits and finished he year with a 9-2 record.
2013: Named a second-team D3baseball.com All-American … Named first-team D3baseball.com All-Mid-Atlantic Region pitcher and to ABCA all-region second team … Voted first-team All-Centennial Conference and the league's pitcher of the year, a first for a Haverford hurler … Was one of only two unanimous selections to all-Centennial first team … Voted onto Philadelphia Inquirer 2013 Academic All-Area Baseball Team … Named the Centennial Conference pitcher of the week on April 8, and April 22 … Led pitching staff with a 7-1 record and 1.81 ERA which was second-lowest in the league … Over 64.2 innings of work, struck out 89 batters -- setting a single-season program record -- to lead the conference … His mark of 12.29 strikeouts per nine innings was also best in the league … Set single-game program record of 18 strikeouts in complete-game victory over visiting Washington (4/20, Game 1) … In his nine starts, with three complate games, he fanned at least 10 batters fvie times … Faced 228 batters who posted just a .180 batting average and collected only seven extra-base hits … After only two seasons if fifth in strikeouts (167) and 10th in wins (13) on program's all-time records list.
2012: Voted onto second-team All-Centennial Conference … Finished 2012 with a 6-4 record and a 2.72 ERA which was fourth-lowest in the league … His 78 strikeouts ranks as third-most for the Fords in a single season … Set team record for strikeouts in a game fanning 15 in complete-game victory at Muhlenberg College (4/05). Also struck out 10 without allowing a run over seven innings of work in win at Swarthmore College (3/30) … Made 12 appearances on the mound for the Fordsgetting the starting nod 11 times … Allowed only 13 extra-base hits over 76.0 innings … In addition to nine-inning win at Muhlenberg, hurled two more complete-game victories during season -- at Johns Hopkins (4/28) on final day of regular season in Fords' first doubleheader sweep of Blue Jays, and against Washington College (5/04) in opening round of Centennial tournament.
