Back in the Top 25! Haverford Men’s Soccer Earns National Ranking From United Soccer Coaches

HAVERFORD, Pa. — The Haverford College men's soccer team returned to the United Soccer Coaches Division III national rankings Tuesday, entering the organization's latest poll at No. 25.

The national ranking is Haverford's first since the 2019 season. The Fords are 6-0-1 through seven matches and own the longest active unbeaten streak in Division III at 27 consecutive contests.

Haverford extended the streak Saturday with a 3-1 victory over Gettysburg in its Centennial Conference opener at Swan Field. Charles Sharp recorded two goals and an assist, while Thomas Vanni added a goal and an assist as the Fords secured their fourth consecutive victory.

Sharp leads Haverford with seven goals and 16 points this season. The sophomore ranks fourth in Division III in total goals and eighth in total points while leading the Centennial Conference in goals per game. He was named the Centennial Conference Co-Offensive Player of the Week on Tuesday morning. 

The Fords have outscored their opponents 13-2 during their four-game winning streak, earning victories over Penn State Abington, Susquehanna, Delaware Valley and Gettysburg. 

Goalkeeper Grayson Benson and the Haverford defense have posted two shutouts during that stretch.

Haverford next returns to action Wednesday, Sept. 23, for a rare home game under the lights, hosting Penn State Brandywine at 7:30 p.m. on Swan Field.
