LANCASTER, Pa. — The Haverford College Women's Indoor Track & Field team finished fifth overall with 54 points as the Centennial Conference Championships wrapped up on Sunday inside Schnader Field House. The day was highlighted by a second-place finish in the 400 meters by first-year Lorelei Middleton and a third-place finish in the 4x400-meter relay by the team of Devyn Telleen, Anastasia Jaycobs, Middleton, and Olivia D'Aulerio.
On the track, Middleton ran 58.92 to place second in the 400 meters, contributing 8 points to the Scarlet and Black total. D'Aulerio added two points with a seventh-place finish in 59.70, while Devyn Telleen ran a personal-best 1:01.02 to take 10th. The 4x400-meter relay squad of Telleen, Jaycobs, Middleton, and D'Aulerio capped the day with a third-place finish in 4:01.36.
The field events saw first-year Adriana Rogow clear 1.34 meters (4 feet, 4.75 inches) in the high jump to place 14th.
In the distance events, sophomore Maia Poremba placed 11th in the mile with a time of 5:26.64. The 800 meters featured a strong team showing, with junior Anastasia Jaycobs finishing fifth in 2:19.16 for four points, senior Savannah Shaw placing seventh in 2:20.62 to add two points, Carly Priest crossing 15th in 2:26.01, Poremba 21st in 2:29.83, and Sophia Furman 25th in 2:33.03.
Haverford's long jump competitors continued the day's strong efforts. Sophomore Beatrice Di Girolamo leapt 4.67 meters (15 feet, 4 inches) to place 11th, Zofi Sanders finished 19th at 4.34 meters (14 feet, 3 inches), and Rogow was 22nd at 4.00 meters (13 feet, 1 inch). In the shot put, senior Sarah Wilcher added 15th-place points with a throw of 9.92 meters (32 feet, 6.50 inches).
In the sprints, Middleton returned in the 200 meters, placing 12th in 27.33, while junior Nadine Tang finished 17th in 27.92. In the 3,000 meters, senior Jessie Hausman earned a personal-best 10:48.22 for 20th place, Alice Sappenfield finished 22nd in 10:57.48, and Bianca Ortiz took 26th in 11:21.47.
Next up for the Haverford Women's Indoor Track & Field team is the Tufts National Qualifying Meet in Medford, Mass., on Saturday, March 7. This will be the Fords' final opportunity to qualify for the NCAA Championships, scheduled for March 13 and 14 in Birmingham, Ala. The top 20 athletes in individual events and the top 12 relay teams will advance to compete at the NCAA Championships.
