HAVERFORD, Pa. - From February 10 to 12, the Haverford College community once again came together in a remarkable show of support for Haverford Athletics, raising $389,976 from a record-breaking 1,245 donors during this year's GameDay Fords Challenge.
Thirty-two challengers stepped forward to amplify the impact, contributing an additional $201,831 in matching and challenge funds. Every gesture, whether a text, email, social media post, or gift, helped fuel the momentum, making a real difference for all 23 varsity programs and the scholar-athletes they support.
The prize pool winners highlighted some of the standout performances of the campaign. Women's Tennis took 1st place with a $2,500 prize, followed by Men's Lacrosse in 2nd place with $1,000. Squash earned the Most Improved award from FY25, securing $1,500, and the team with the largest percentage of current seniors giving will soon be recognized with a pizza party. Men's Lacrosse led all programs in total dollars raised with $51,955, while Field Hockey had the most overall donors (152) and the most student gifts.
Squash claimed the title for most challengers, Fencing represented the Class of 2026 well the most senior gifts, and Baseball received the most gifts from parents.
The campaign opened with a gift to Baseball and closed with a gift to Cricket. The challenge had a wide generational reach, with gifts from alumni from the class 1963 all the way to current students in the class of 2029. Men's Lacrosse led among young alumni (graduates from 2016–2025) with 25 donors in that grouping.
The GameDay Fords Challenge showcases the central role athletics play in campus life, enhancing opportunities for scholar-athletes to grow as teammates, leaders, and students.
