Two Historic Performances Highlight Day Two of the CC Championships for Women's Track & Field

COLLEGEVILLE, Pa. - The Haverford College women's track & field team returned to Patterson Field on the campus of Ursinus College for the second day of the 2025 Centennial Conference Championships. Amongst plenty of personal bests, the day was highlighted by a record-breaking bronze medal performance in the 4X800 meter relay and the eighth-fastest time in program history for the 100 meters.

The final event of the day ended up being the most memorable for Haverford, as the relay team of Dominique La Grenade, Savannah Shaw, Olivia D'Aulerio, and Anastasia Jaycobs, captured the bronze medal with a time of 9:22.91. The impressive mark now ranks as the third-fastest time in Haverford program history. 

Nadine Tang placed 12th in the 100 meter prelims, dashing to a new personal best time of 12.82. The time is now tied for eighth-fastest in Haverford history. Tang is currently tied for the eight-fastest time with Taylor Murphy '19 and Zoe Welch '11. Abby Ryan placed 22nd with a time of 13.66, while Zofi Sanders collected 24th with a new personal best time of 13.85. Rounding out the group for Haverford was Sophie Gardiner, who took home 26th with a time of 14.02. 

The women's heptathlon long jump began day two of the Centennial Conference championships, as Beatrice Di Girolamo placed fourth with a leap of 4.97 meters (16 feet, 3.75 meters), before Ella Fleming took home sixth with a personal best jump of 4.89 meters (16 feet, .5 inches).

Fleming then once again claimed sixth, this time in the javelin throw, as the senior tossed the javelin a distance of 21.21 (69 feet, 7 inches). In ninth place was Di Girolamo, who threw the javelin 15.64 meters (51 feet, 3 inches). The 800 meters saw Ella Fleming earn third with a speedy time of 2:31.93, while Di Girolamo turned in a personal best time of 2:43.85 for eighth. Di Girolamo finished sixth overall in the heptathlon, while Fleming also logged a scoring performance in eighth overall.

In the 3,000 meter steeplechase, Alice Sappenfield led a Haverford trio with an 11th place finish, running to a time of 12:22.30. Following Sappenfield was Poppy Chrisman, who finished 14th with a personal best time of 12:31.45, before Dalia Smid claimed 21st with a time of 14:29.26.

In the 100 meter hurdle prelims, Abby Ryan finished 15th with a time of 19.15.

Olivia D'Aulerio qualified for Sunday's 400 meter final, after sprinting to a time of 59.46 to earn fourth in the 400 meter prelims. Also competing in the 400 meter prelims was Emery Casucci, who ended the prelims in 12th with a personal best time of 1:04.82. Veronica Kanachova garnered 14th, crossing the finish line in 1:06.19, while Brianna Feifer claimed 15th with a time of 1:07.01. 

The 800-meter prelims saw Anastasia Jaycobs qualify for the final with the third fastest time, as the sophomore bolted to a time of 2:22.28. Maia Poremba earned 14th with a time of 2:27.90, followed by Carly Priest in 15th (2:28.04) and Jessie Hausman in 16th (2:29.85).

Rachel November qualified for the 400 meter hurdles, after finishing sixth in the prelims with a time of 1:10.64.

Following her appearance in the 100 meter prelims, Tang moved over to 200 meter prelims, where the sophomore picked up 14th with a personal best time of 27.44.

At the throwing pit, Sarah Wilcher competed in the discus throw, as the junior launched the discus 30.88 meters (101 feet, 3 inches), for 14th place.

In the sand, Di Girolamo led the Fords group of four, by leaping a personal best 5.13 meters (16 feet, 10 inches) for 10th place. Behind Di Girolamo was Adriana Cruz-Soto, who jumped 4.82 meters (15 feet, 9.75 inches), grabbing 12th place. She was followed by Grace Hannigan in 13th with a distance of 4.81 meters (15 feet. 9.50 inches), while Fleming placed 15th with a distance of 4.68 meters.

The Fords, who currently sit in seventh place with 14 points, will return to Patterson Field for the final day of the Centennial Conference Championships on Sunday, May 4. The first events of the final day will begin at 11 a.m.
