CHESTER, Pa. – The Haverford College women's track & field team competed in day two of the Paul Donahue Invitational on the track and field of Leslie C. Quick Jr. Stadium at Widener University. The day was filled with numerous personal records and a top-10 performance in program history by Anastasia Jaycobs in the 800 meters.
In the 800 meters, Anastasia Jaycobs ran a personal best of 2:16.70 for eighth place—now the eighth-fastest time in program history. Carly Priest placed 32nd with a personal best of 2:24.16, while Jessie Hausman claimed 43rd (2:28.84 – personal best). Sophia Furman (62nd, 2:35.815 – personal best) and Bianca Ortiz (63rd, 2:35.816) followed close behind.
The Fords were represented by three runners in the 100 meters, with Nadine Tang leading the trio in 35th place with a time of 13.35. She was followed by Zofie Sanders in 50th (14.18) and Sophie Gardiner in 53rd (14.67).
In the 100 meter hurdles, Beatrice Di Girolamo placed 21st with a personal best time of 16.66. Ella Fleming leapt her way to a personal best of 17.93 for 27th place, while Abby Ryan finished 30th in 18.59.
Olivia D'Aulerio led a large Haverford group in the 200 meters, placing 24th with a time of 26.41. Tang followed in 47th (27.73), with Di Girolamo close behind in 61st, setting a personal best of 28.69. Abby Ryan placed 62nd (28.74), while Emery Casucci clocked 29.27 for 67th. Other notable finishers included Zofie Sanders (70th, 29.41 – personal best), Brianna Feifer (74th, 29.56), and Sophie Gardiner (81st, 30.27 – personal best).
In the 400 meters, D'Aulerio placed 10th with a time of 59.31. Feifer earned 33rd with a personal best of 1:04.69, followed by Casucci in 35th (1:05.25 – personal best). Veronica Kanachova rounded out the group in 42nd (1:07.90).
Senior Rachel November placed 12th in the 400 meter hurdles, clocking a personal best time of 1:09.31. Savannah Shaw led the way in the 1500 meters, placing 28th with a personal best time of 4:57.25. Maia Poremba (31st, 5:05.29 – personal best), Katie Strutton (45th, 5:36.86 – personal best), and Natalie Kruglyak (50th, 5:54.92 – personal best) rounded out the Fords' entries.
In the always exciting 3000 meter steeplechase, sophomore Poppy Chrisman finished 12th with a time of 13:01.19.
In the jumping pit, sophomore Grace Hannigan placed 19th in the long jump with a leap of 4.78 meters (15 feet, 8 inches). Di Girolamo followed in 22nd with a personal best of 4.77 meters, with Adrian Cruz-Soto right behind in 23rd (4.76 meters). Ella Fleming placed 24th with a personal best of 4.75 meters, and Sanders finished 41st with a personal best of 4.23 meters (13 feet, 11 inches).
In the first event of the day to hit the track, the 4x100-meter relay team of Tang, Hannigan, Abby Ryan, and November secured eighth place with a time of 52.30.
The women's track & field team now returns to action on Tuesday, April 22, hosting its lone home meet of the season—the Haverford Tri-Meet—beginning at 3:30 p.m.
