CHESTER, Pa. – The Haverford College men's track & field team opened the two-day Paul Donahue Invitational at Widener University with three running events on Friday evening. The night was highlighted by a flurry of personal bests, including another record-breaking performance from senior Reza Eshghi.
Eshghi delivered yet another historic outing in the mile, obliterating his previous personal best of 4:06.06 with an outstanding 4:01.17, finishing second overall. That mark now ranks second all-time in Haverford history, surpassing Jamie Moreland '23, who ran a 4:01.81.
In the 5,000 meters, Luke de Valpine led the charge with a new personal best of 14:53.13, finishing 11th. He was followed by Jakob Maiwald, who placed 22nd with a personal best of 15:09.91. Micah Lachman was 37th in 15:26.64, followed by Joseph De Rosa in 56th with a time of 15:39.36. Right behind De Rosa were Torin Pelton-Flavin in 57th (15:40.73, personal best) and Miles Colescott in 58th (15:41.39). Other notable finishers for the Fords included Seawon Park, who placed 88th with a personal best time of 16:40.91; Cullen Worth, who finished 90th with a personal best of 16:42.12; Kieran McDonell, who took 92nd with a personal best of 16:44.49; and Tommaso Wheeler, who rounded out the group in 93rd with a time of 16:46.53.
To close out the evening, senior Rowan Shigeno competed in the 10,000 meters, earning a personal best time of 33:42.95 to finish seventh.
