CHESTER, Pa. – The Haverford College men's track & field team wrapped up its two-day stint at the Donahue Invitational, held at Widener University's Leslie C. Quick Jr. Stadium with more action on Saturday afternoon.
Thomas Fendig led three Fords in the 400 meters, recording a top-10 finish with a time of 48.70. The mark is a new personal best for the first-year and ranks as the fourth-fastest in program history. Vir Goyal finished 68th in 54.18, while Derek Linden placed 77th with a personal-best 55.43.
Nico Greene secured a ninth-place finish in the 400-meter hurdles with a time of 56.06, which ties for ninth-best in Haverford history.
Saturday's action featured a large Haverford contingent in the 100 meters. First-year Niko Beros led the group with a 21st-place finish in 11.15 seconds, just shy of his personal best, which currently ranks sixth in program history. Fellow first-year Samuel Lin impressed with a personal-best 11.51 to place 46th.
Sophomore Zenas Boamah followed in 54th (11.62), and first-year Mark Tringas ran 11.91 to place 69th. Senior Nathan Ma rounded out the sub-12-second performers, clocking in at 11.99 for 74th. Junior Jackson Juzang (personal-best 12.06) and Jonah Hoffmann-Weitsman (personal-best 12.20) finished 81st and 88th, respectively, with senior Amon-Ra Kamit closing out the squad in 101st (12.52).
In the 200 meters, Fendig once again led the way with an impressive 26th-place finish and a personal-best time of 22.46. Beros capped a strong day with another personal best, placing 42nd in 22.75.
Boamah crossed in 76th with a personal-record 23.50, just ahead of senior Vir Goyal in 80th (23.56). Hoffmann-Weitsman recorded a PR of 24.88 to finish 113th, while Linden rounded out the group in 115th (25.12, PR).
Reef Kirchner was Haverford's top performer in the 800 meters, clocking 1:58.48, followed by senior Reed Solomon (1:59.40). Gopal Patel finished 87th with a time of 2:08.17.
In the always captivating 3,000-meter steeplechase, Seamus Fraser earned a third-place finish with a time of 9:30.82, while first-year Nicky Elias-Gillette finished 12th in a personal-best 10:20.21.
In field action, Tringas placed 24th in the long jump, clearing 6.00 meters (19 feet, 8.25 inches). Juzang was 31st with a leap of 5.90 meters (19 feet, 4.25 inches), and Ma finished 34th with a 5.88-meter effort (19 feet, 3.5 inches).
The Fords next return to action on Tuesday, hosting the annual Haverford Tri-Meet at Johnson Track & Walton Field. Events begin at 3:30 p.m.
