HAVERFORD, Pa. – The Haverford College women's soccer team played to a scoreless draw with No. 13 Swarthmore Saturday afternoon. It marked the program's eighth shutout of the season. Head coach Jamie Schneck's team finishes the 2025 campaign at 6-8-4 on the season, including 3-6-1 in conference action. The 2026 senior class was honored prior to the start of the match as Lauren Anderson, Abigale Baker, Lily Buyer, Olivia Daulerio, Madeline Dosen, Cate Lambert, Greenley Modica, and JJ Stein were making their final appearances on Walton Field.
In the 14th minute of action, Emma Kirk blasted an attempt toward the frame, but it was thwarted by the keeper. Lily Buyer kept the visitors off the board a minute later. Haverford went on the attack again at the 17:26 mark, but Olivia Daulerio's shot was saved. Thirty seconds later, Buyer foiled the opposition's shot as the contest remained scoreless.
Clare Hawley rocketed a shot that had plenty of pace on the ball, but it sailed high in the 19th minute of action. The Garnet had two shots that missed before Buyer amassed another save at the 22:56 mark.
Buyer was simply outstanding, turning away the visitors three more times before Kirk laced an attempt that missed high in the 39th minute of play. Abigale Baker's shot on goal was stopped by the keeper just over two minutes before halftime. Buyer's brilliant save with eight ticks on the clock sent the contest to the second half at 0-0. Caroline Flynn and Daulerio had shots on goal early in the second period, but each attempt was saved. After a save by Buyer in the 64th minute, Kirk's shot on frame was foiled by the keeper less than a minute later.
Buyer fought off another offensive attack by Swarthmore late in the match, stopping three shots within a three-minute span. Haverford's last shot occurred with 1:09 to play, but Lauren Anderson's shot missed high.
For the game, Kirk led the way with three shots, including two on goal. Daulerio and Flynn each had two shots while Anderson, Baker and Hawley all had one attempt in the shutout. Haverford recorded 10 shots, including six on goal. The Fords earned one corner kick. Buyer was a stalwarty between the pipes. She played all 90 minutes and stopped all 12 shots for the clean sheet.
The result gives Haverford half a point in the Hood Trophy competition with the rival Garnet, and gives the Fords some momentum to build on heading into the offseason with a young squad hungry to get back to the Centennial Conference playoffs in 2026.
