(RV) Men's Soccer Blanks McDaniel, 1-0

With the win, the Fords tied the longest unbeaten streak in program history at 16 consecutive matches, matching the 2015 squad that advanced to the NCAA Tournament Elite 8.

HAVERFORD, Pa. — The Haverford College men's soccer team (9-0-7, 2-0-4 CC) earned a 1-0 shutout victory over McDaniel (7-4-3, 1-2-3 CC) on Saturday afternoon at Walton Field. With the win, the Fords tied the longest unbeaten streak in program history at 16 consecutive matches, matching the 2015 squad that advanced to the NCAA Tournament Elite 8.

The decisive moment came in the 53rd minute when first-year Aidan Lee scored his second-career goal for the Scarlet and Black, assisted by Charles Sharp. Following a McDaniel free kick that was cleared out of Haverford's defensive half, Sharp sent a long ball forward that Lee chased down. The rookie forward maneuvered around McDaniel goalkeeper Tate Roth, who had come off his line, before calmly slotting the ball into the open net to give the Fords the lead.

Haverford controlled the tempo throughout, outshooting the Green Terror 17–6 and holding them to just one shot on goal. The Fords pressed early, with Thomas Vanni sending a shot high in the third minute and Jonathan D'Amour forcing an early save from Roth. McDaniel's best chance came in the 11th minute when Conor Najera's header was stopped by goalkeeper Grayson Benson. The Fords' pressure continued, but despite numerous chances from Vanni, Sharp, and Kieran Kunihiro, they were unable to add to their lead.

In the final minutes, McDaniel pushed forward in search of an equalizer and appeared to have found one in the 89th minute after a long free kick created chaos in the box. However, the goal was disallowed due to a foul on Benson, who had been knocked to the ground during the sequence. The Fords held firm in the closing moments to secure their ninth win of the season.

Lee scored the match's lone goal on his only shot, while Sharp earned the assist. Vanni led the team with five shots, one on goal, and Kunihiro added four attempts, also putting one on target. In goal, Benson made one save en route to his seventh shutout of the season.

For McDaniel, Roth recorded three saves on five shots faced, while Najera's header in the first half was the team's lone effort on frame.

Looking ahead, the Fords will remain at home to host Muhlenberg on Wednesday, October 22, at Walton Field. Kickoff is scheduled for 4 p.m.
