Women's Lacrosse Season Ends Against Dickinson

HAVERFORD, Pa. – The Haverford College women's lacrosse season ended on Wednesday when the Fords were halted by Dickinson College, 11-6. Haverford, which was the No. 4 team headed into the postseason, got the best of the fifth seeded Red Devils in their regular season matchup, but unfortunately couldn't continue the success in their postseason contest.

Dickinson's Maddy Siebold caught fire in the beginning of the first half, scoring the first three goals of the game. The Fords couldn't find answers and soon found themselves trailing by five. Maura Grant lit the lamp to get Haverford on the board but hers was the only goal of the first half for the home team.

The Fords tied the Red Devils in second half scoring, 5-5. Rina Rosnow scored in the beginning of the frame to set the tone and then scored again later on.

Haverford netted four of the last five goals of the game, finishing their season strong. Christina Gould, Allie Gibbons, and Sarina Manetta all found the back of the net.

In goal, senior Megan Chenworth shook off a few early goals and locked in to finish the game with 10 saves.

The Fords showed some hustle in winning the battle for ground balls 19-14, led by Madison Jones with five. On defense, Isabella Bertagna and Noelle Smith each caused three turnovers.

Head coach Lauren Wray's team finishes its season with a successful 10-7 overall record and a trip to the postseason for the third time in the last four years.
