Game Recap: Women's Lacrosse |

Women's Lacrosse Braves the Snow, Survives Dickinson

HAVERFORD, Pa. - In unseasonably snowy conditions, the Haverford women's lacrosse team pulled out a critical win over Centennial Conference opponent No. 20 Dickinson, 8-7. The Red Devils climbed their way back from a 6-1 Haverford lead to equalize the game with 8:47 left in regulation, but sophomore Molly Lausten scored the decisive goal with 58 seconds left to lift the Fords.

In net, Megan Chenworth made some saves that would have been impressive in any game, but then you consider the conditions. She finished with eight stops on 15 shots.

The Fords' attack didn't seem to be affected much by the weather in the first half and Haverford netted six of the game's first seven goals. Elyse Adler scored the first goal of the game and would soon score two more. Rina Rosnow, Allie Gibbons, and Sarina Manetta also netted first half goals.

Senior Christina Gould assisted on each of the Fords' first four goals. She now has 20 helpers on the year, good for fourth in the Centennial and first on the team.

Limited visibility and snowy field conditions limited the second half to a nail biting 18 minutes. Dickinson continued to chip away at the lead with two early second half goals. Lausten scored her first goal of the game to make it 7-5, but the Red Devils would soon tie the game.

Manetta caused a crucial turnover with just under four minutes left to give Haverford possession, allowing Lausten to score the game winner with 58 seconds left. Following the final draw of the game, Maura Grant gained possession to lock it up.
