BALTIMORE, Md. - The Haverford College women's tennis team closed its season with a 5-0 loss to host Johns Hopkins University in Centennial Conference semifinal action on Saturday afternoon.
Coming off the first postseason victory in program history, the Fords (12-9) fell behind 3-0 after doubles action to the top-seeded Blue Jays squad (15-5) that features two regionally-ranked doubles teams.
Johns Hopkins, ranked eighth nationally, diminished thoughts of a Haverford comeback with quick wins at No. 3 and No. 4 singles to clinch the match.
The Blue Jays move on to face Swarthmore College on Sunday at 11 a.m. for the conference championship.
