Fords' 17 runs end Kenyon's 7-game win streak

FORT MYERS, Fla. - Haverford College's baseball team ended Kenyon College's seven-game win streak Saturday morning, defeating the Lords, 17-2, in a non-conference battle that was the Fords' final outing of the spring trip.

Haverford (5-4) had it's most powerful outing at the plate of the early season while Kenyon (7-4) scored fewer than four runs for only the third time this spring.

Starting pitcher Tommy Bergjans earned the win surrendering two runs on six hits and a walk while fanning five in six innings on the mound. Jonny Black hurled two innings in relief of Bergjans and allowed one hit and recorded a strikeout, and Mike Bozzi retired all three batters he faced in the ninth, all by strikeout.

Justin Coulter, Luke Frankiw and Nick Miranda collected four hits each in the victory, while MikeTentalucci, Jeremy Zoll and Casey Fox had three hits apiece. Alex Hudak's two hits produced four RBIs for the Fords. Fox and Frankiw brought home two runs each.

Haverford returns to Philadelphia where it will welcome Immaculata University to Kannerstein Field for the Fords' home opener on Tuesday afternoon at 3:30 p.m.
