Men's tennis defeats Dickinson, 7-2, for fourth consecutive victory

CARLISLE, Pa. - The Haverford College men's tennis team continued its hot streak Saturday afternoon by knocking off host Dickinson College, 7-2, in a Centennial Conference match-up. The Fords improve their overall record to 5-5, and remain perfect in conference play with a 4-0 mark. Haverford has now won its last four matches. Dickinson's record goes to 6-4 overall and 2-2 in the conference.

The Fords got off to a strong start by claiming all three doubles matches. In a hard fought match at No. 1, Kevin Caulfield and Danny Himelstein prevailed over Ross Anstaett and Will Golinkin, 8-6. Matthew Cebul and Matt Romei improve to 3-0 as a No. 2 doubles team after earning an 8-3 win. Will Garrett and Hailiu Yang clinched the final doubles point by an 8-4 margin.

Andy Dougherty highlighted singles play for Haverford with a three-set win over Kurt Mendelson in the No. 3 match, 6-4, 3-6, 6-2. Romei won his No. 4 match, 6-2, 6-3, to pick up his team-leading eighth win. Garrett was victorious in the No. 5 match, 6-0, 6-1. Cebul earned the final point for the Fords with a 6-4, 6-3 win in the No. 6 match.

Haverford will look to push its winning streak to five against visiting Muhlenberg in a Centennial Conference showdown on Wednesday, April 6 at 3:30 p.m.
