HAVERFORD, Pa. – The Haverford College women's tennis team picked up a 9-0 Centennial Conference victory over visiting Ursinus College Wednesday afternoon. Alex Ferrara clinched the match with a straight set win at No. 2 singles.
The Fords' only trouble on the day came at No. 2 doubles where Katie Drooyan and Kate Donches needed a tiebreaker to defeat Heather McMasters and Jimena Talavera, 9-8 (7).
Haverford's (9-1, 3-1 CC) Nos. 1-4 singles players all won in straight sets. Donches and Jordana Bloom won in pro-sets at Nos. 5 and 6, respectively, after the Fords clinched the match.
The Fords improve to 9-1 overall and 3-1 in the Centennial while Ursinus drops to 4-6 and 0-3.
Haverford plays host to Franklin & Marshall College Saturday at noon.
