BRYN MAWR, Pa. – The Haverford College women's basketball team used a balance attack in a 50-34 Centennial Conference win at Bryn Mawr College on Saturday afternoon.

The Fords outshot (37 percent to 31%) and out-rebounded (43-35) the Owls, while Bryn Mawr turned the ball over 23 times (to Haverford's 16).

With the victory, Haverford jumps to 5-2, 2-2 CC, while Bryn Mawr remains winless with a 0-5, 0-4 CC record.

As she has done all season, junior Dominique Meeks led the Fords with a double-double (16 points and 11 boards), while Bryn Mawr's Nicolette Parmese (17 points, 11 rebounds) led all scorers.

The Fords jumped out to a 14-2 lead to start things off, and reached their largest advantage with 21 points (29-8) in the sixth minute of the first half.

The Fords charged ahead 32-17 at the break.

The Owls' Taytiana Welch hit a jumper at 15:40 in the second half as Haverford led 38-23 and the game remained scoreless for the next four minutes until sophomore Hope Rainey knocked down a free-throw. Rainey completed the afternoon with nine points. The Fords would roll from there, keeping a healthy lead for the remainder of the period to secure a 50-34 win.

Welcoming Ursinus College to Gooding Arena, the Fords play next on Dec. 7 at 6 p.m.
