COLLEGEVILLE, Pa.- A goal in the 63rd-minute lifted the Haverford College men's soccer team (8-6-1, 4-4 CC) to a 1-0 road victory over Ursinus College (3-11-3, 2-5-1) Wednesday night in a Centennial Conference nightcap.
Haverford's Alejandro Rettig y Martinez scored at the 63:55 mark on a solid cross from Tyler Freeman to score the eventual game-winner in the second half.
The Fords pounded shots all night, holding a 24-4 shot advantage along with a 5-1 corner kick edge.
In goal for Haverford, Nick Kahn came up with two saves in a complete game victory, while Ursinus' Mike Alfieri made six stops for the Bears.
Next up for the Fords will be a Saturday, Oct. 29 home contest against Swarthmore College at 3 p.m. on Walton Field in Haverford's final regular season appearance.
