HAVERFORD, Pa. – The Haverford College men's tennis dropped a 6-3 Centennial Conference match to visiting Washington College Wednesday afternoon at Bramall Courts.
Will Garrett and Hailiu Yang picked up Haverford's only doubles point with an 8-6 victory at No. 2. Matthew Cebul and Danny Himelstein came close to winning another point for the Fords. They fell to Aaron Ellison and John Menzione, 9-8 (4), in a hard-fought match at No. 3.
In singles, Yang and Natty Sergay came up with Haverford's only points. Sergay defeated Kyle Lisco in straight sets, 6-4; 6-1, at No. 4. Yang closed out the match with by downing, Kevin Papen in straight sets, 7-6 (4); 7-5, as well at the No. 2 spot.
Haverford drops to 3-3 overall and 0-2 in the conference. The Shoremen improve to 7-1 on the season and 3-0 in the Centennial.
The Fords remain home this Saturday when they host Dickinson College at noon.
