Lauren Gold joined the Haverford College women’s basketball program as an assistant coach ahead of the 2026-27 season.
Gold comes to Haverford after spending four seasons as an assistant girls basketball coach at William Penn Charter School in Philadelphia from 2021 to 2025. At Penn Charter, Gold worked closely with student-athletes on skill development while assisting with practice planning, play development and other aspects of the program.
Gold previously gained collegiate coaching experience at her alma mater, Shippensburg University, serving as an assistant women’s basketball coach during the 2017-18 season. In that role, she created scouting reports, worked with Synergy Sports film, helped develop the team playbook and provided academic, athletic and personal support to student-athletes. Gold also worked as an academic support counselor for student-athletes at Shippensburg during the 2017-18 academic year.
As a student-athlete at Shippensburg, Gold established herself as one of the program’s top guards. A 1,000-point scorer, she earned PSAC East Freshman of the Year honors before receiving second-team All-PSAC East recognition as a sophomore. Gold finished her career among Shippensburg’s top four in assists and set the program record for career free-throw percentage. Her career free-throw percentage also ranked sixth in NCAA Division II history at the conclusion of her career.
Gold graduated from Shippensburg in 2017 with a Bachelor of Arts in communication studies.
