Christa Racine was hired as Haverford College's Director of Athletics on May 18, 2026, and officially began her tenure on July 1, 2026. She arrived at Haverford after serving as Director of Athletics at Drew University since 2017, where she provided strategic leadership for the Rangers' NCAA Division III athletics program while overseeing student-athlete development, departmental operations, and long-term planning. Racine also enjoyed a distinguished 30-year tenure as Drew's head women's soccer coach from 1994-2023, establishing herself as one of the most accomplished coaches in program history.
A veteran leader with extensive experience in NCAA Division III athletics, Racine has built a reputation for fostering student-centered athletic programs rooted in integrity, competitive excellence, and community. Throughout her administrative career, she has emphasized the holistic development of student-athletes while supporting coaches, enhancing departmental services, and promoting an inclusive and equitable athletics culture.
At Haverford, Racine oversees 23 varsity teams across 13 sports and leads a department of more than 30 full-time staff members. She joined the College during a period of significant momentum, with Athletics playing a central role in the institution's Haverford 2030 strategic plan and comprehensive fundraising campaign. In recent years, Haverford has seen 21 of its 23 varsity programs compete for conference championships, 10 programs qualify for NCAA Championships through team or individual competition, and several teams establish or tie program records for single-season success.
Racine serves as a member of Haverford's Senior Staff, helping advance the College's commitment to integrating athletics into its broader educational mission while continuing to elevate the student-athlete experience.
"During my time on campus, what stood out most to me was how deeply athletics is aligned with the educational mission of the institution," Racine said. "The sense of community, purpose, and care for students was evident throughout the process, and it left me energized about the future. I am incredibly excited to join Haverford and look forward to working alongside the campus community to support and elevate the student-athlete experience."
