Sam Renikoff joined the Haverford College men’s cross country and track & field programs as an assistant coach ahead of the 2026-27 season.
Renikoff comes to Haverford with coaching experience at both the scholastic and individual levels. He currently serves as the head track & field coach at Julia R. Masterman High School in Philadelphia after previously spending a season as an assistant coach with the program. Renikoff oversees a co-ed team of more than 40 student-athletes across a variety of track & field disciplines and develops season-long and individualized training plans.
During the 2026 season, Renikoff helped guide Masterman athletes to a Philadelphia city championship in the girls’ 4x800-meter relay and a District XII runner-up finish in the event. Masterman also produced a district champion in the girls’ 3,200 meters, multiple district medalists in the 1,600 and indoor 3,000 meters, and school records in the girls’ 60 meters, mile and 3,000 meters.
Renikoff has also worked as a personal running coach since 2020, first with CoachUp and currently with Team RunRun. He has coached more than 75 athletes ranging from competitive marathoners pursuing Boston Marathon qualifying standards to runners focused on general fitness. Renikoff develops individualized training programs for distances ranging from the mile to the marathon, with five of his athletes achieving Boston Marathon qualifying times.
A competitive distance runner himself, Renikoff is a seven-time Boston Marathon qualifier with personal bests of 4:53 in the mile, 16:48 in the 5K, 35:47 in the 10K, 1:19:33 in the half marathon and 2:40:00 in the marathon.
Renikoff is a USA Track & Field Level 1 Track & Field Coach and USATF Marathon Specialist and holds additional coaching certification through the Road Runners Club of America and National Federation of State High School Associations. He graduated from the University of Minnesota’s Carlson School of Management in 2016 with a Bachelor of Science in Business, majoring in finance with a minor in accounting.
