LANCASTER, Pa. -- The Centennial Conference announced the selection of 24 student-athletes to participate in the 28th Snell-Shillingford Symposium, to be held October 10-11, 2026, at Franklin & Marshall College.

Named in honor of pioneering coaches Eleanor Frost Snell and Jen Shillingford, the Snell-Shillingford Symposium has been a cornerstone leadership program within the conference for more than 25 years. Over the years, the symposium has empowered hundreds of student-athletes, providing them with skills and connections they can carry with them both in athletics and into their future careers.

Haverford will be represented by student participants Gracie Eilberg (women's basketball) and Evelyn Penhoet (women's fencing), while Keiko Chinen (women's cross country/track & field) will serve as a Snell-Shillingford intern.

This year's cohort features 24 participants representing institutions across the Centennial Conference. Selected for their demonstrated leadership potential and commitment to personal growth, this year's participants embody the spirit and values of the program. The theme for the 2026-27 symposium, "The Power of Me: Creating Impact That Matters," celebrates the idea that meaningful change starts with individual action. By recognizing our unique strengths, embracing our voices, and leading with purpose, we can create lasting impact within our communities, teams, and the world around us.

The program will feature a panel discussion with women in sport, including Bethany Miller, Sports Director at WGAL; Kate Corcoran, Director of Athletics at Millersville University; and Swarthmore women's basketball alum Katie Lytle, who currently serves as Assistant Athletic Director for Budget and Planning at Princeton University.

The panel will be complemented by five sessions focused on topics including Title IX, goal setting, the power of mentorship, and more. Speakers for this year's symposium include Ashley Day Gibbs of Women Leading Baltimore, Chelsea Christmas of At Her Core Fitness, Amy Wilson of the NCAA, Dina Henry of Franklin & Marshall College, and author Megan Weisheipl.
