HAVERFORD, Pa. – The Haverford College men's and women's fencing programs each earned an impressive collection of 2026 United States Fencing Coaches Association academic honors, highlighted by the men sharing USFCA Men's Scholar Team of the Year honors and 36 Fords receiving individual recognition.

Haverford shared the Men's Scholar Team of the Year honor with Duke University after the two programs posted the highest combined in-season team grade-point average among men's fencing programs. Haverford was also one of 14 men's teams to receive USFCA All-Academic Team recognition in 2025-26. 

The Haverford women joined the men among the nation's All-Academic Team honorees, earning a place among 21 women's programs recognized for their combined in-season team GPAs. The USFCA bases its team and individual academic awards on combined fall and spring semester GPAs, or fall and winter quarter GPAs.

On the men's side, 19 different Fords earned USFCA All-Academic Team honors: Ian Alvarez, Henry Bishop, Eric Chen, Henry Fedonchik, Kenji Gullo, Osaretin Idahor, Robert Li, Rocky Monto, Dean Myers, Oliver Po, Michael Pyo, Jack Richards, Greg Roumiantsev, Ryotaro Sakazaki, Conrad Seib-Levinson, Andrew Strayer, Ezra Weintroub, Raphael Yamamoto and Stephen Yarosh.

A total of 14 Haverford's men's honorees also earned the prestigious USFCA's Scholar of Distinction award: Alvarez, Bishop, Chen, Monto, Myers, Po, Pyo, Richards, Roumiantsev, Sakazaki, Seib-Levinson, Strayer, Weintroub and Yamamoto.

The women's program placed 17 Fords on the USFCA All-Academic Team: Eleni Antoniades, Janna Castro, Nina Chafee, Sienna Chung, Paige Copenhaver, Mesoon Fatima, Nina Hamilton, Aanya Jeganathen, Eliza Kollett, Raynn Krueger, Grace Leverton, Evelyn Penhoet, Emely Polanco, Olivia Rueger, Sophie Stamicar, Payton Wagner and Carter Wood. Nine Haverford women were also recognized as Scholars of Distinction: Antoniades, Castro, Chafee, Hamilton, Kollett, Leverton, Penhoet, Wagner and Wood.

All-Academic Team honors are presented to student-athletes at USFCA member institutions who compiled an in-season GPA of 3.3 or higher. Scholar of Distinction recognition is reserved for student-athletes with an in-season GPA of at least 3.7.

Across all of NCAA fencing, 526 student-athletes earned USFCA All-Academic honors in 2026, with 324 also recognized as Scholars of Distinction. Haverford's 35 individual honorees, along with the national recognition earned by both teams, reflect the programs' sustained commitment to excellence in the classroom and in competition.
