COLLEGEVILLE, Pa. - The Haverford College men's track & field team opened its stint at the three day Centennial Conference Outdoor Track & Field Championships on Friday at Ursinus, with a gold medal in the 10,000 meters highlighting the evening session.
Senior Peter LaRochelle captured the Centennial Conference title in the 10,000 meters with a time of 31:34.58, earning 10 points for Haverford. The senior secured the crown after finishing runner-up in 2024 and placing third in 2023.
Jakob Maiwald finished just outside the scoring, crossing ninth in 32:44.21, followed closely by Luke de Valpine in 10th with a time of 33:00.02. Joseph De Rosa placed 13th in 34:00.40, while fellow junior Rowan Shigeno came in 14th at 34:07.92. Senior Kieran McDonnell rounded out the Fords' entries with a 22nd-place finish in 36:04.99.
In the pole vault competition that opened the day on Friday, first-year Joey Kim finished 11th overall, clearing 3.4 meters (11 feet, 1.75 inches), a new personal best for the rookie.
The second day of events at the CC Championships begins tomorrow at 12 p.m. as day two features a bevy of scoring events as well as prelims for many track distances. Live video and live results are available via the CC Championships Central page.
