COLLEGEVILLE, Pa. – The Haverford College men's track & field team wrapped up a two-meet weekend as select entrants took to the track at Ursinus' Frank Colden Invitational on Saturday afternoon in Collegeville.
In the 60-meter prelims, Jonah Hoffman-Weitsman paced the Fords with a 42nd-place finish in a personal-best 7.82. Alex Geng followed in 47th (7.96), while Amon-Ra Kamit placed 58th (14.95).
The men's 200 meters saw Joey Kim finish 26th (24.70), while Hoffman-Weitsman was 44th with a season-best 26.01. Geng crossed 45th in 26.12.
Kim also recorded a personal best in the pole vault, clearing 3.35 meters (10 feet, 11.75 inches) for 16th place overall.
Jason Mayo competed in the indoor pentathlon, finishing fifth in the 60-meter hurdles (9.82), second in the long jump (5.96 meters / 19 feet, 6.75 inches), and third in the shot put (9.41 meters / 30 feet, 10.5 inches). He did not record a mark in the high jump or 1,000 meters.
Will Singer placed 19th in the weight throw, registering a mark of 11.75 meters (38 feet, 6.75 inches), while Rocky Luan finished 40th in the shot put with a throw of 9.29 meters (30 feet, 5.75 inches).
Gopal Patel was Haverford's top finisher in the 800 meters, placing 18th in 2:09.07. Seawon Park was the team's lone mile entrant, setting a new personal record with a 23rd-place finish in 4:54.55.
A large group of 3,000-meter entrants was led by Joseph De Rosa, who placed seventh with a season-best 9:10.16. First-year Tate Sheehy narrowly missed a top-10 finish, taking 11th in 9:29.38. Nicky Elias-Gillette finished 13th (9:37.86), while Rowan Shigeno rounded out the group in 16th (9:47.55).
In the 5,000 meters, Tommaso Wheeler secured a top-10 finish, crossing ninth in an even 17:00. Kieran McDonnell followed in 11th (17:03.34), and Cullen Worth finished 12th with a new personal best of 17:06.22.
Haverford returns to action on Friday, February 14, with select track runners competing at the David Hemery Valentine Invitational in Boston. A larger contingent will turn its attention to the Widener Indoor Classic at Penn's Ott Center on February 15, beginning at 2:30 p.m.
