No. 29 Men's Squash Falls to No. 2 Penn, 9-0

PHILADELPHIA - Going up against the nation's second-ranked Penn Quakers, the 29th-ranked Haverford College men's squash team (3-3) fell by a 9-0 final to the hosts (7-0) in College Squash Association action at the Penn Squash Center on Saturday afternoon. 

The Fords were facing off with Penn for the first time since the 2005-06 season, and making the first trip to Penn to face the Quakers since the 2004-05 campaign.

Penn picked up its first win of the day at the ninth flight, with Diego Narvaez getting the better of Garrett Fantini (11-2, 11-1, 11-6). Just moments after that match finished, Penn had its second tally already firmly in hand from Brian Cowhey over John Collins (11-5, 11-2, 11-3). The second flight then saw Quinton Crawford fall to reigning Ivy League Rookie of the Year Nathan Kueh by a final score of 11-3, 11-3, 11-4. 

Oliver Green later got past Ben Schiltz at the fifth (11-2, 11-5, 11-2) and Rehan Luthra was tested by Aaryaman Jaising at the fourth, as the Haverford newcomer again impressed against one of the best teams in the sport, taking seven points in a first game defeat (11-7,  11-2, 11-3). 

Alexander Trauber bested Matt Sullivan at the eighth flight, with Sullivan deftly taking his Quakers opponent to extra points in the third game (11-5, 11-5, 12-10). Saksham Choudhary then bested Peter Lehv at the third flight (11-3, 11-2, 11-2), while Roger Baddour outlasted Noah Tunis at the top flight (11-2, 11-1, 11-2). 

At the sixth flight, Hao Cui finished the day with a victory over Kai Schinaman 911-6, 11-4, 11-5). 

Haverford now returns to action tomorrow, heading to Carlisle, Pa. for a neutral site matchup with Denison as the two sides do battle in Central Pennsylvania. Action on the courts at Dickinson's Kline Center is slated for an 11 a.m. first serve.
