Women's Squash Scores Seventh Win of the Season vs. Northeastern

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – The Haverford College women's squash team finished its busy weekend at MIT with an 8-1 victory over the Northeastern Huskies on Sunday morning.

Junior Bethany Simmonds was dominant, dropping just six points in her three-game victory. Senior Alex Love would lose just 12 points in her 3-0 victory. Seniors Samara Flug and Avery Weisel, junior Alyssa Kaden and sophomore Isabel Agnew also won 3-0 at their ladder positions.

It was Flug's 21st career win which now places her alone in sixth place on the all-time list.

Junior Emily Berlin won games three and four, losing just 10 points in those games. Junior Sabina Aliev won the fourth game 11-2 at the No. 9 ladder position to pick up another point for the Fords. Freshman Isabelle Gotuaco dropped a tough 13-11 decision in game one before losing 11-5, 11-5 in games two and three.

Five of the Fords' seven wins this year have been 8-1 or 9-0. Haverford is now 7-4 on the season. The team's seven wins is tied for the third most in program history. Head coach Niki Clement's squad now has a five game home stand beginning with Vassar on Saturday (12:30 p.m.).
