HAVERFORD, Pa. – The Haverford College men's basketball team has been selected to finish 10th in the 2025–26 Centennial Conference preseason coaches' poll, released Wednesday afternoon by the conference office.
Defending conference champion Franklin & Marshall earned the top spot in the poll with seven first-place votes and 78 points. Johns Hopkins followed closely behind in second with three first-place votes and 75 points. Gettysburg was picked third with 61 points, while Swarthmore (58 points) and Ursinus (53 points) rounded out the top five.
Dickinson was chosen sixth with 41 points, followed by McDaniel (27) in seventh. Muhlenberg and Washington College tied for eighth with 22 points each, while the Fords were tabbed 10th with 13 points.
The Scarlet and Black will look to return to the Centennial Conference Tournament for the first time since the 2019–20 season, as head coach Patrick Doherty welcomes eight newcomers to a roster that also features several key returners.
Among those returning is junior guard Gaven Marr, who led the Fords in scoring last season with 13.1 points per game. The Glenview, Ill. native — a two-time Centennial Conference Player of the Week — also paced the team with 37 three-pointers made.
Sophomore forward Adam Strong-Jacobson returns after an impressive debut season with the Scarlet and Black. Strong-Jacobson led the team with 17 blocks and contributed 7.4 points and 5.2 rebounds per game, establishing himself as a key presence in the front court.
Haverford will open the 2025–26 campaign under the lights of Gooding '84 Arena, hosting Valley Forge on Saturday, November 8, at 1 p.m.
All home games will stream live on the Centennial Conference Digital Network, available online, via mobile app, and on CC streaming platforms for Amazon Fire, Apple TV, Android TV, and Roku. Fans can follow the Fords all season long at HaverfordAthletics.com and on social media at @HCFords_Sports.
